Heated Tobacco Products (HTPs) are regulated as tobacco products in New Zealand and are allowed for sale and use including sales through online channels. These products are available in general retail stores. The law allows health benefit claims about these products and at the same time requires manufacturers to place health warning on their packaging. There is also a minimum age restriction of 18 years. The maximum nicotine content allowed is equal or lower than 20 mg/ml.
