Smoking cigarettes is legal in Grenada with certain restrictions. Cigarettes can be legally sold and purchased, including online and through vending machines. Also, importing cigarettes for trade is allowed with an import license. Tobacco products are marketed in Grenada, but with restrictions. A complete ban on cigarette advertising is in place. However, there is no minimum legal age for cigarette sales, and there are no legal restrictions on smoking in public places. A total taxation rate of 44% is applied on these products. In 2024, the total number of current smokers in Grenada was estimated to be 12,000 individuals.
In 2021, smoking in the country resulted to an estimated 39 deaths. Of these, 29 were male deaths, and 10 were female deaths. This indicates that smoking accounted for 3.54% of all deaths in 2021, including 4.88% of male deaths and 1.97% of female deaths.
