В Зимбабве актуальная распространённость курения табака среди взрослых в возрасте 15 лет и старше составила 8,1% в 2024 году, при этом более высокие показатели отмечаются среди мужчин — 17%, по сравнению с женщинами — 0,6%. Это свидетельствует о снижении по сравнению с предыдущими годами: в 2020 году распространённость курения составляла 9,1% в целом, 18,8% среди мужчин и 0,8% среди женщин. По оценкам, число взрослых, которые курят, в 2024 году достигло 778 000. Это немного больше, чем в 2020 году (753 836 человек), но существенно ниже по сравнению с 2019 годом, когда этот показатель составлял 1 130 394. В 2017 году ежедневное курение среди взрослых отмечалось на уровне 11,8%, причём среди мужчин — 22,9%, среди женщин — 1,2%. Смертность, связанная с курением, остаётся серьёзной проблемой общественного здравоохранения: в 2021 году на курение приходилось 6,42% всех смертей среди мужчин и 2,28% среди женщин, что составило 8 696 случаев. Эти данные подчёркивают сохраняющиеся общественные проблемы, вызванные курением табака в Зимбабве, и необходимость скоординированных усилий для снижения числа курящих и связанных с этим рисков для здоровья.
