В 2018 году примерно 1,9 миллиона взрослых в Йемене использовали традиционные бездымные табачные изделия, что составляло 11,3 процента от всего взрослого населения. Среди мужчин этот показатель достигал 17 процентов, а среди женщин – 5,9 процента. Ежедневное употребление среди взрослых составляло 10,5 процента: 15,9 процента среди мужчин и 5,3 процента среди женщин употребляли данный продукт ежедневно. Традиционные бездымные табачные изделия регулируются в Йемене как табачные продукты. Их разрешено продавать и употреблять, а также приобретать через интернет. Однако законодательство требует наличия предупреждений о вреде для здоровья на упаковке, а продажа разрешена только людям старше 18 лет.
