En 2018, aproximadamente 1,9 millones de adultos en Yemen eran consumidores actuales de tabaco sin humo tradicional. La prevalencia general de consumo actual en adultos fue del 11,3 por ciento. Entre los hombres adultos, la prevalencia fue del 17 por ciento, mientras que entre las mujeres adultas fue del 5,9 por ciento. La prevalencia de consumo diario en adultos fue del 10,5 por ciento, con un 15,9 por ciento en hombres y un 5,3 por ciento en mujeres que utilizaban el producto a diario. El tabaco sin humo tradicional se regula como producto de tabaco en Yemen. Su venta y consumo son legales, al igual que su compra por internet. Sin embargo, la ley exige advertencias sanitarias en el empaquetado, y se aplica una restricción de edad mínima de 18 años para su venta.
