По состоянию на 2017 год в Того насчитывалось примерно 155 500 человек, которые на данный момент употребляют традиционные бездымные табачные изделия, что составляет 3,6% взрослого населения. Распространённость употребления была выше среди мужчин — 5,1% по сравнению с 2,2% среди женщин. О ежедневном употреблении сообщили 2,6% взрослых, при этом ежедневно используют бездымный табак 4% мужчин и 1,4% женщин. С точки зрения регулирования, традиционные бездымные табачные изделия легальны и регулируются в Того как табачная продукция. Таким образом, продажа и употребление этих продуктов разрешены, допускается и покупка онлайн. Вместе с тем, упаковка обязана содержать предупреждения о вреде для здоровья, а продажа этих изделий ограничена возрастом от 18 лет. Кроме того, действует запрет на все формы рекламы табака, что отражает строгий контроль над продвижением.
