В Швеции электронные сигареты легальны, разрешены продажи как через интернет, так и через торговые автоматы, а продукция доступна в обычных розничных магазинах. В то же время делать заявления о пользе для здоровья запрещено, реклама регулируется. Акциз на электронные сигареты составляет от 10% до 50% уровня, установленного для обычных сигарет, что отражает умеренный подход к налогообложению по сравнению с традиционными табачными изделиями. В стране действуют ряд требований к электронным сигаретам, включая обязательное уведомление о новых продуктах, требования к упаковке, защищённой от детей и вскрытия, а также предупреждения о вреде для здоровья на упаковке. Минимальный возраст для покупки электронных сигарет — 18 лет. Ограничений на ассортимент вкусов нет, однако содержание никотина не должно превышать 20 мг/мл, а объём резервуара – не более 2 мл. Использование электронных сигарет также законодательно ограничено в общественных местах. По оценкам, в 2023 году в Швеции насчитывалось около 83 500 человек, которые курят электронные сигареты. В 2023 году распространённость употребления электронных сигарет среди взрослых оценивалась в 1%. В 2022 году этот показатель был немного выше среди женщин (2,2%), чем среди мужчин (1,9%).
