Закон № 37/2007 имплементирует статью 19 Директивы ЕС о табачных изделиях, которая охватывает новые табачные продукты и распространяется на стиковые табачные изделия (ПНТ). Регулирование включает требования к подаче отчётности, уведомлений и предупреждающих надписей о вреде для здоровья. Стиковые табачные изделия облагаются акцизом на табак по той же ставке, что и традиционные табачные изделия, а также дополнительным налогом по ставке 15% ad valorem и налогом в размере 0,080 евро за грамм табака.
