Доступные данные свидетельствуют о том, что употребление табака в Омане по-прежнему представляет серьёзную проблему для общественного здравоохранения. По данным за 2024 год, 421 000 человек в возрасте 15 лет и старше употребляли табачные изделия. Текущая распространённость курения табака среди взрослого населения в том же году составила 10,7%, при этом наблюдается заметная разница между мужчинами и женщинами: среди мужчин этот показатель достиг 16,1%, а среди женщин — лишь 0,3%. Такая гендерная разница сохраняется на протяжении последних лет. Что касается смертности, в 2021 году на курение табака пришлось 756 случаев смерти, что составляет 4,45% общей смертности в стране. Среди мужчин количество смертей, связанных с употреблением табака, было значительно выше — 645 случаев против 111 случаев среди женщин. В том же году процент смертности от всех причин, связанной с курением табака, составил 5,53% у мужчин и 2,08% у женщин. В 2017 году уровень ежедневного употребления табачных изделий среди взрослых составлял 6,5%, среди мужчин — 12,3%, среди женщин — 0,3%. Эти статистические данные отражают продолжающиеся трудности Омана в снижении уровня употребления табака и связанных с этим последствий для здоровья.
