В Македонии 2 мая 2019 года президент подписал указ, официально утвердивший новый Закон о табаке, который предусматривает отдельную категорию для стиковых табачных изделий (ПНТ) и электронных сигарет, а также требует других предупреждений о вреде здоровью для этой категории по сравнению с традиционными сигаретами. Для устройств электронных сигарет не требуется размещать предупреждения о вреде здоровью. «Курение» определяется как использование горючего табачного изделия. Для стиковых табачных изделий (ПНТ) будет необходима предварительная нотификация перед выходом на рынок, а для электронных сигарет требуется прохождение процедуры предварительного одобрения.
