В 2024 году текущая распространённость курения табака среди взрослых в возрасте 15 лет и старше в Марокко показала значительные гендерные различия. Доля курящих среди мужчин была существенно выше: 24% по сравнению с лишь 1,2% среди женщин. В целом, распространённость курения среди взрослого населения составила 12,6%. Оценочное количество людей, употребляющих табачные изделия, в Марокко в этом же году было около 3,5 миллиона. Для сравнения, данные за 2020 год указывали на немного более низкую общую распространённость курения — 12,1%: среди мужчин 24%, среди женщин 0,7%. В 2018 году ежедневное курение среди взрослых составляло 11,6%, причём среди мужчин — 22,3%, среди женщин — 1,2%. В 2021 году число смертей, связанных с курением табака, составило 21 574 случая: мужчины составили 17 095 из этого числа, женщины — 4 479. Эти показатели соответствуют 7,54% всех случаев смертности, причём для мужчин этот показатель равнялся 10,91%, для женщин — 3,46%. Данные цифры подчёркивают сохраняющиеся вызовы для общественного здравоохранения, связанные с курением табака в Марокко, и свидетельствуют о необходимости проведения целенаправленных мероприятий и политики для сокращения вреда, связанного с употреблением табачных изделий, и преодоления указанных различий.
