В Либерии по состоянию на 2024 год распространённость курения табака среди взрослых в возрасте 15 лет и старше оценивалась в 4,3%, при этом отмечается значительная разница между мужчинами и женщинами: среди мужчин данный показатель составил 7,5%, а среди женщин — 1,2%. Для сравнения, в 2020 году общий уровень курения среди взрослых был немного выше и составлял 6,3%, при распространённости среди мужчин 11,3% и среди женщин 1,3%. Оценочное число людей, которые курят в настоящее время, в 2024 году составляло примерно 144 000, что ниже по сравнению с 182 645 в 2020 году. В 2017 году распространённость ежедневного курения табака среди взрослых составляла 7,9%, при этом среди мужчин — 14,7%, а среди женщин — 1,2%. Связанная с курением смертность также остаётся значимой проблемой общественного здравоохранения в Либерии: в 2021 году на курение приходилось 1,67% всех смертей, что соответствует 660 случаям. По половому признаку в 2021 году курение стало причиной 2,35% всех смертей среди мужчин и 0,84% среди женщин. Эти данные подчёркивают сохраняющуюся остроту проблемы курения табака в Либерии и необходимость скоординированных мероприятий по снижению его вредного влияния на здоровье.
