Венгрия соблюдает положения Директивы ЕС о табачных изделиях (TPD) 2014 года и ввела ряд дополнительных ограничений. Электронные сигареты разрешено приобретать только в специализированных табачных магазинах; любая торговля электронными сигаретами требует лицензии; полностью запрещены все ароматизированные жидкости для электронных сигарет, кроме вкуса «табак». Использование электронных средств доставки никотина (ЭСДН) запрещено во всех местах, где курить нельзя. За нарушение закона предусмотрены значительные штрафы: например, до 980 долларов за парение в запрещённом месте, до 9 800 долларов — для предприятий, допускающих парение внутри помещений, и до 196 000 долларов — за продажу товаров без лицензии. Трансграничная торговля запрещена. Налог на жидкость, содержащую никотин, ограничен максимально 55 форинтами (0,18 евро).
