В Гондурасе по состоянию на 2024 год распространённость курения среди взрослых составляла 12,1%, при этом наблюдается заметное гендерное различие: курят 22,6% мужчин и 1,6% женщин, что эквивалентно примерно 890 000 взрослых, которые курят в настоящее время. Для сравнения, в 2015 году распространённость ежедневного курения среди взрослых составляла 10,3%: среди мужчин — 19,6%, среди женщин — 1,2%. С точки зрения влияния на здоровье, в 2021 году курение стало причиной 5,68% всех смертей в стране, при этом уровень смертности среди мужчин составил 7,72%, а среди женщин — 3,21%. Это означает, что в 2021 году 4 139 смертей были связаны с употреблением табака: 3 077 среди мужчин и 1 062 среди женщин. Данные отражают незначительное улучшение по сравнению с 2016 годом, когда на долю смертей, связанных с курением, приходилось 6,55% всех случаев смерти в стране. Остающаяся серьёзная угроза для здоровья свидетельствует о необходимости продолжения усилий в области общественного здравоохранения и совершенствования мер регулирования, направленных на борьбу с курением и его последствиями для здоровья в Гондурасе.
