В Гане распространённость курения табака среди взрослых в возрасте 15 лет и старше в 2024 году составила 4% среди мужчин и 0,5% среди женщин, а общее значение достигло 2,2%. Для сравнения, в 2020 году общий показатель среди взрослых был 2,4%, среди мужчин — 4,4%, среди женщин — 0,3%. Общее количество людей, которые курят табачные изделия, увеличилось с 453 184 в 2020 году до 480 000 в 2024 году. Для справки: в 2017 году ежедневное курение табака среди взрослых составляло 3,1%, в том числе 6,1% среди мужчин и 0,2% среди женщин. Данные о смертности, связанной с курением за 2021 год, показывают, что 2,23% всех случаев смерти были обусловлены курением, причём этот показатель был выше среди мужчин (3,35%), чем среди женщин (0,88%).
