W Ghanie w 2022 roku rozpowszechnienie palenia tytoniu wśród osób dorosłych w wieku 15 lat i więcej wynosiło 4% w przypadku mężczyzn i 0,3% w przypadku kobiet, co daje ogólny poziom 2,1%. Dla porównania, w 2020 roku ogólna częstość palenia wśród dorosłych wynosiła 2,4%, w tym 4,4% wśród mężczyzn i 0,3% wśród kobiet. Całkowita liczba palaczy tytoniu zmniejszyła się z 453 184 w 2020 roku do 416 722 w 2022 roku, co potwierdza tendencję spadkową obserwowaną od 2019 roku, kiedy to liczba ta wynosiła 644 429. Dla porównania, w 2017 roku odsetek dorosłych palących papierosy codziennie wynosił 3,1%, z czego 6,1% stanowili mężczyźni, a 0,2% kobiety.
