Во Франции статья 19 Директивы ЕС по табачным изделиям, касающаяся новых табачных изделий, распространяется на стиковые табачные изделия (ПНТ). Нормативные акты предусматривают требования к отчётности, уведомлениям и предупреждающим надписям о вреде для здоровья. Кроме того, во Франции на стиковые табачные изделия (ПНТ) распространяется налогообложение по категории «Autres tabacs à fumer» («Другие табачные изделия для курения»).
