На Кубе курение разрешено и регулируется рядом положений. Продажа и покупка сигарет легальны, в том числе через торговые автоматы и онлайн-платформы. Ввоз сигарет для осуществления торговли также допускается. Однако упаковка сигарет должна содержать предупреждения о вреде для здоровья, чтобы информировать потребителей о рисках, связанных с курением. Минимальный возраст для покупки сигарет составляет 18 лет. Хотя курить запрещено в некоторых общественных местах с целью снижения воздействия пассивного курения, полного запрета на рекламу табака нет. Совокупная ставка налогообложения сигарет на Кубе составляет 10%. По состоянию на 2024 год примерно 1,6 миллиона кубинцев курят, при этом распространённость курения среди взрослого населения составляет 17,2%. Среди женщин этот показатель составляет 9,6%, среди мужчин — 25,2%. Для сравнения, в 2017 году численность ежедневных курящих составляла 2,3 миллиона человек. Распространённость ежедневного курения среди взрослых тогда составляла 24,6% в целом, включая 36,8% среди мужчин и 12,4% среди женщин. Данные также свидетельствуют о значительном влиянии курения на смертность на Кубе: в 2021 году по оценкам, умерло 15 300 человек по причинам, связанным с курением, в том числе 11 000 мужчин и 4 200 женщин. Эти смерти составили 9,26% всех случаев смерти, включая 11,81% среди мужчин и 5,92% среди женщин по стране. Эти данные подчёркивают масштаб воздействия курения на общественное здоровье на Кубе.
