Heated Tobacco Products (HTPs) are regulated as tobacco products and are allowed for sale and use in Bulgharia. However, like other tobacco products there are still some restricions on HTPs.
There were an estimated 149,000 adult HTP users in Bulgharia in 2023, which shows a slight increase from 141,000 users in 2020. In other words, the current HTP use prevalence increased from 2.4% in 2020 to 2.6% in 2023. In a survery conducted in 2023, 9.5% of the respondents stated that they had tried HTP at least once.
