В Кыргызстане по состоянию на 2024 год распространённость употребления табака среди взрослых в возрасте 15 лет и старше оценивается в 17,4%, при этом наблюдается значительный гендерный разрыв: среди мужчин курят 32,8%, среди женщин — 2,9%. Общее количество людей, употребляющих табак, составляет примерно 832 000 человек. Эти показатели отражают незначительное снижение по сравнению с предыдущими годами: в 2020 году распространённость курения составляла 26,1%, а в 2019 году — 26,6%. Для справки: в 2017 году ежедневное употребление табака среди взрослых составляло 20,6% — среди мужчин 39,5%, среди женщин 2,7%. Что касается смертности, в 2021 году на случаи, связанные с курением, пришлось 13,68% всех смертей в стране: 5,76% всех женских смертей и 19,84% мужских. Всего в 2021 году по этой причине умерло 5 322 человека, из них 4 342 мужчины и 980 женщин. Эти данные подчеркивают серьёзные вызовы для общественного здравоохранения, связанные с употреблением табака в Кыргызстане, и необходимость продолжения усилий по борьбе с распространённостью табака и его последствиями для здоровья населения.
