W 2023 roku w Tunezji szacunkowo 464 100 osób używało tradycyjnego bezdymnego tytoniu. Ogólna rozpowszechnienie tego nawyku wśród dorosłych wynosiła 5,4%, przy wyraźnej różnicy między płciami: 8,6% dorosłych mężczyzn deklarowało bieżące używanie, podczas gdy wśród dorosłych kobiet było to 2,2%. Tradycyjny bezdymny tytoń jest w Tunezji dozwolony i traktowany jako produkt tytoniowy podlegający przepisom. Można go także legalnie kupować przez internet. W sprzedaży produktów bezdymnych nie obowiązują żadne ograniczenia wiekowe, co oznacza, że mogą być one legalnie sprzedawane osobom w każdym wieku. Na opakowaniach jednak wymagane są ostrzeżenia zdrowotne informujące konsumentów o związanym z tym ryzyku dla zdrowia.
