W Tajlandii obraz palenia tytoniu dostarcza istotnych informacji na temat rozpowszechnienia i skutków palenia wśród osób dorosłych. W 2022 roku liczba palaczy powyżej 15. roku życia wynosiła 10 962 267, co oznacza zauważalny spadek w porównaniu z poprzednimi latami. Oznacza to, że odsetek palących dorosłych wynosił 18,9%, przy wyraźnej różnicy między płciami: 37,7% wśród mężczyzn i 1,8% wśród kobiet. Dla porównania, w 2020 roku wskaźniki te były nieco wyższe – ogólnie 19,4%, wśród mężczyzn 38,2%, a wśród kobiet 1,9%. W 2021 roku codzienne palenie dotyczyło 15,3% dorosłych, w tym 30,5% mężczyzn i 1,1% kobiet.
