En Sudán del Sur, no se dispone de datos sobre la prevalencia del consumo de tabaco. Sin embargo, el impacto del tabaquismo en la mortalidad ha sido considerable en el país. En 2021, las muertes atribuibles al consumo de tabaco ascendieron a 2,532, de las cuales 480 correspondieron a mujeres y 2,052 a hombres. Estas cifras representan el 2.2% del total de fallecimientos en el país, con un 1% del total de muertes femeninas y un 3.07% de las masculinas. En comparación, en 2016 se registraron un total de 3,276 muertes relacionadas con el tabaquismo, de las cuales 827 fueron mujeres y 2,449 hombres. El porcentaje de muertes atribuibles al consumo de tabaco fue ligeramente superior en 2016, alcanzando el 2.84%, con un 1.2% entre mujeres y un 3.4% entre hombres.
