En Palaos (2023), la venta de cigarrillos es legal y se permite fumar. También está permitido importar cigarrillos para su comercialización y no se requiere incluir advertencias sanitarias en los envases. Sin embargo, existen algunas restricciones: no es legal comprar cigarrillos en línea ni en máquinas expendedoras. La edad mínima para comprar es de 21 años y existen restricciones legales para fumar en lugares públicos. La tasa total de impuestos sobre los cigarrillos es de 0.74. Los datos de prevalencia de 2022 indican que el 17% de los adultos eran fumadores actuales, incluyendo un 7.3% de mujeres y un 26.3% de hombres. Los datos de mortalidad atribuible al tabaquismo de 2021 registran 26 muertes relacionadas con el consumo de tabaco, de las cuales 6 correspondieron a mujeres y 20 a hombres. Esto demuestra que el consumo de tabaco representó el 13.5% de todas las muertes en el país en 2021, con un 7.17% de muertes femeninas y un 18.29% de muertes masculinas.
