В Палау продажа сигарет разрешена, курить также можно. Допускается импорт сигарет для торговли, при этом требования к нанесению предупреждений о вреде для здоровья на упаковке отсутствуют. Тем не менее, действуют определённые ограничения: покупка сигарет через интернет или из торговых автоматов запрещена; минимальный возраст для покупки составляет 21 год; курение в общественных местах ограничено законом. Общая ставка налогообложения на сигареты составляет 0,74. Согласно данным по распространённости за 2024 год, 17,7% взрослых регулярно курят, в том числе 7,7% женщин и 26,2% мужчин. По данным о смертности, связанной с курением табака в 2021 году, зафиксировано 26 случаев смерти, обусловленных употреблением табака, в том числе 6 среди женщин и 20 среди мужчин. Таким образом, в 2021 году на долю курения табака пришлось 13,5% всех случаев смерти в стране, включая 7,17% женских смертей и 18,29% мужских.
