En Santa Lucía, fumar está permitido bajo ciertas regulaciones. La venta y compra de cigarrillos es legal, incluyendo las compras en línea y a través de máquinas expendedoras. La importación de cigarrillos para su comercialización también está permitida con una licencia de importación. Los paquetes de cigarrillos deben llevar advertencias sanitarias para informar a los consumidores sobre los riesgos de fumar. La edad mínima legal para comprar cigarrillos es de 18 años. El consumo de tabaco está restringido por ley en algunos lugares públicos para reducir la exposición al humo ajeno. Sin embargo, no existe una prohibición total de la publicidad del tabaco. La carga tributaria total sobre los cigarrillos en Santa Lucía es del 43%. En cuanto a la prevalencia del consumo, datos de 2023 muestran que el número de fumadores actuales era relativamente bajo, con aproximadamente 303 personas. La prevalencia del consumo actual de tabaco entre adultos era de 0.2% en general, con 0.4% entre las mujeres y 0.1% entre los hombres. Como referencia, los datos de 2017 indican una prevalencia de consumo diario de tabaco en adultos más alta, del 9.3%, incluyendo un 16.2% en hombres y un 2.5% en mujeres, con aproximadamente 13,200 fumadores diarios. El tabaquismo contribuye a la mortalidad en Santa Lucía. En 2021, se estimaron 76 muertes atribuibles al consumo de tabaco, incluyendo 60 hombres y 16 mujeres. Las muertes relacionadas con el tabaco representaron el 3.95% de todas las muertes en el país en 2021, con un 5.46% de muertes masculinas y un 1.97% de muertes femeninas.
