En Islandia, los cigarrillos electrónicos están permitidos y se encuentran regulados dentro de un marco específico. La venta en línea de cigarrillos electrónicos es legal y estos productos están disponibles en comercios generales. Sin embargo, toda forma de publicidad y promoción de cigarrillos electrónicos está prohibida. Además, se exige la notificación de nuevos productos antes de su introducción en el mercado, y el etiquetado debe incluir advertencias sanitarias claras. Los envases deben ser a prueba de niños y manipulaciones. La concentración máxima de nicotina permitida es de 20 mg/ml, y la capacidad del depósito se limita a un máximo de 2 ml. No existen restricciones respecto a la variedad de sabores, pero el uso de cigarrillos electrónicos está legalmente limitado en determinados lugares públicos. En cuanto a cifras, en 2024 Islandia informó un estimado de 17.500 usuarios actuales de cigarrillos electrónicos y una prevalencia de consumo actual en adultos del 6,4%.
