En Dinamarca, los cigarrillos electrónicos están permitidos legalmente y pueden adquirirse tanto en tiendas minoristas como en línea. Sin embargo, no se permiten declaraciones de salud relacionadas con estos productos y la publicidad está regulada. El impuesto especial aplicado a los cigarrillos electrónicos equivale como máximo al 10% del gravamen establecido para los cigarrillos convencionales. Las medidas regulatorias incluyen la obligación de notificar los productos, el uso de envases a prueba de manipulación y diseñados para ser resistentes a niños, así como advertencias sanitarias en el empaque. Además, la edad mínima legal para comprarlos es de 18 años. También existen restricciones sobre la variedad de sabores, el contenido de nicotina (limitado a 20 mg/mL o menos), el uso en lugares públicos y el tamaño del depósito, que no puede superar los 2 mL. En cuanto a la prevalencia, en 2023 había aproximadamente 145,400 vapeadores actuales en Dinamarca. La prevalencia de vapeo actual entre adultos era del 3%, mientras que la prevalencia de vapeo diario entre adultos alcanzaba el 1,9%. Los datos de una encuesta de 2017 señalan que el 16% de los adultos había probado alguna vez un cigarrillo electrónico. Otra encuesta realizada en 2017 en Dinamarca indica que el 79% de los encuestados consideraba que los cigarrillos electrónicos son dañinos o más dañinos que los cigarrillos, el 13% los percibía como no dañinos o menos dañinos, y el 8% no estaba seguro.
