En Belice, fumar está permitido con ciertas restricciones. La venta de cigarrillos es legal, al igual que su compra en línea. Se permite la importación para uso personal bajo ciertas condiciones, y la importación con fines comerciales es legal siempre que se cuente con una licencia de importación. No existe una prohibición total de la publicidad relacionada con el consumo de tabaco en Belice. Tampoco hay una edad mínima legal para comprar cigarrillos. Sin embargo, es obligatorio incluir advertencias sanitarias en los empaques de cigarrillos, y estos están sujetos a una tasa total de impuestos del 34%. En 2022, se estimaba que en Belice había 25 mil adultos fumadores activos, lo que representaba una prevalencia de consumo de tabaco del 8.7% entre los adultos. Entre los hombres, la prevalencia era de 15.5% y entre las mujeres, de 1.9%. Según datos de 2021, la prevalencia diaria de consumo de tabaco entre adultos fue de 16.4% en hombres y 2.1% en mujeres. Ese mismo año, el consumo de tabaco provocó 106 muertes en Belice —83 hombres y 23 mujeres—, lo que indica que el tabaquismo fue responsable del 4.52% de todas las muertes registradas en el país en 2021, incluidos el 5.96% de las muertes masculinas y el 2.4% de las muertes femeninas.
