Comparatively, in 2016, smoking-related deaths were 94 among males, and 66 among females. Regarding the percentage of all deaths attributable to tobacco smoking, it was 2.45% in 2021, slightly lower than the 2.69% in 2016. The gender-specific percentages for 2021 were 3.51% for males and 1.22% for females, indicating an increase from 2016 figures, which were 2.9% for males and 2.4% for females. These statistics underscore the persistent impact of tobacco smoking on public health in Equatorial Guinea, with a notable increase in mortalities over the years.
