In Uzbekistan, Heated Tobacco Products (HTPs) are legally allowed for sale and use including sales through online channels. These products are available in general retail stores. However, the law does not allow manufacturers to place health benefit claims about these products and requires them to place health warning on their packaging. There are also some restrictions on their flavours. The total taxation rate on HTP is 280,000 сум/кг. Available data show that the number of current adult HTP users in 2019 was 55,147 people, representing a current prevalence of 0.24%.

Current use prevalence of HTP according to the most recent survey in EECA
The use of heated tobacco products mostly follows the trends observed in vaping in the EECA region. Once again, Belarus (3%), Ukraine (3%) and Georgia (2.3%) show a moderate but noteworthy presence of these products and their use. Moldova deviates from this pattern, with HTP use at 2.6%, while current vaping prevalence stands at only 0.7%. Similar to the low vaping prevalence, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan exhibit low rates of HTP use.
