In India, e-cigarettes are subject to stringent regulations. The overall regulatory status of e-cigarettes is classified as banned. The law enforces a complete ban on all forms of advertising related to these products. It is illegal to sell e-cigarette devices and nicotine, both online and in physical stores. Moreover, it is prohibited to import e-cigarette devices or nicotine for trade, and purchasing these products for personal use, whether online or through other means, is banned by law. The prevalence of current e-cigarette vaping among adults is 0% (including 0% of women and 0% of men). In the female adult population, 0% currently use E-cigarettes. An estimated 0% of adult men are current E-cigarettes users.

  1. E-cigarette sales allowed except in 7 states - Bihar, Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab, Mizoram, Jamma & Kashmir where ENDS are banned. Delhi & Maharashtra were also considering a ban. However recent advice from the Government Ministry of Welfare & Families issued in August 2018, advised all states to prohibit sales, import and advertisement of ecigarettes.
