В Словении электронные сигареты легально доступны, однако их продажа и использование регулируются определёнными ограничениями. Покупка электронных сигарет возможна в обычных розничных магазинах, при этом онлайн-продажи и торговля через автоматы запрещены. Запрещено делать заявления о пользе для здоровья, реклама полностью запрещена. С точки зрения регулирования в Словении действует комплексный набор мер контроля, аналогичных тем, что применяются к традиционным табачным изделиям: обязательная регистрация продукции, упаковка, защищённая от детей, а также наносимые на упаковку предупреждения о вреде для здоровья. Минимальный возраст для покупки — 18 лет. Существуют ограничения на ассортимент вкусов, содержание никотина не должно превышать 20 мг/мл, а объём резервуара — не более 2 мл. Использование электронных сигарет ограничено и в общественных местах. Акциз на электронные сигареты составляет до 10% от ставки, применяемой к табачным изделиям. По состоянию на 2023 год в Словении насчитывалось около 52 400 человек, которые в настоящее время пользуются электронными сигаретами. Распространённость текущего потребления среди взрослого населения составила 3% в целом, 0,8% среди женщин и 1,8% среди мужчин. В 2023 году ежедневное потребление среди взрослых составило 1,7%, в то время как в 2021 году этот показатель составлял 0,4% среди женщин и 0,9% среди мужчин. Согласно опросу общественного мнения, проведённому в 2017 году, большинство взрослых жителей Словении (65%) считали электронные сигареты такими же вредными или более вредными, чем традиционные сигареты, 22% считали их менее вредными, а 13% затруднились ответить.
