Данные о распространённости курения в Сомали отсутствуют. Однако по оценкам, в 2024 году в стране насчитывалось 519 000 человек, которые курят в данный момент. В 2021 году в стране было зарегистрировано 4 998 случаев смерти, связанных с курением, из которых 3 905 были мужчины и 1 093 женщины. Смертность, обусловленная курением табака, составила 2,1% от общего числа всех смертей в Сомали: 2,93% среди мужчин и 1,05% среди женщин. Это свидетельствует о снижении по сравнению с 2016 годом, когда общее количество летальных исходов, связанных с курением, составляло 3 868, а доля таких случаев среди всех смертей достигала 4,53%.
