По данным на 2021 год распространённость курения среди взрослых женщин в Никарагуа составляла 5,5%. В 2021 году причиной курения стали, по оценкам, 1,3 тысячи случаев смерти, из которых 956 произошли у мужчин и 324 у женщин. Это составляет 3,33% от общего числа смертей в стране за 2021 год, включая 4,33% среди мужчин и 1,99% среди женщин. В Никарагуа курение разрешено законом, допускается продажа и использование сигарет, однако покупка сигарет через торговые автоматы или онлайн запрещена. Минимальный возраст для покупки сигарет установлен на уровне 18 лет. На упаковке сигарет обязательны предупреждения о вреде для здоровья. Импорт сигарет в страну с целью торговли разрешён с определёнными ограничениями. Также на использование сигарет распространяются правовые ограничения в общественных местах. Общий налог на сигаретную продукцию составляет 76%.
