В Намибии, согласно данным Всемирной организации здравоохранения, распространённость курения табака среди взрослых в возрасте 15 лет и старше в 2022 году составляла 11,2%. Доля курящих среди мужчин была значительно выше — 19,2%, по сравнению с 4% среди женщин. В абсолютных цифрах примерно 249 000 человек в Намибии в 2024 году определялись как те, кто курят. По сравнению с предыдущими годами прослеживается небольшое снижение распространённости курения: в 2020 году этот показатель составлял 11,7%. В 2017 году ежедневное курение среди взрослых было зафиксировано на уровне 17,2% — среди мужчин 27,6%, среди женщин 7,7%. За 2021 год количество случаев смерти, связанных с курением табака, составило 1 100, из которых 388 — среди женщин и 712 — среди мужчин. Эти смерти, вызванные употреблением табака, составляли 4,1% от общего числа смертей в стране; в разрезе полов — 3,24% среди женщин и 4,8% среди мужчин. Эти данные подчёркивают сохраняющуюся проблему общественного здравоохранения, обусловленную курением табака в Намибии, и необходимость продолжения работы по снижению его вредных последствий.
