В Черногории разрешено курить, продавать сигареты, приобретать их онлайн и импортировать для торговли, однако продажа через автоматы запрещена. На упаковке обязательны предупреждения о вреде для здоровья, минимальный возраст для покупки — 18 лет. Также действует ряд ограничений на курение в общественных местах. Несмотря на эти меры, согласно данным за 2024 год, 37% взрослых в стране курят, в том числе 34,5% женщин и 39,8% мужчин. Для сравнения, в 2017 году насчитывалось 191 тысяча тех, кто курил ежедневно, а распространенность ежедневного курения составляла в целом 37,6% — 35,6% среди женщин и 39,6% среди мужчин. Что касается показателей смертности, в 2021 году количество смертей, связанных с курением, составило 1,3 тысячи, включая 352 случая среди женщин и 973 среди мужчин. Это означает, что курение табака стало причиной 13,42% всех случаев смерти в стране в 2021 году, в том числе 7,71% смертей среди женщин и 18,34% среди мужчин.
