В Гайане, согласно данным за 2024 год, распространённость употребления табака среди взрослых в возрасте 15 лет и старше составила 10,9%. Среди мужчин этот показатель был значительно выше и составлял 20,4%, тогда как среди женщин — 2,1%. Общее количество людей, которые курят в Гайане, оценивается в 63 000 человек, что свидетельствует о небольшом снижении по сравнению с 65 913 курившими, зафиксированными в 2020 году. Распространённость ежедневного курения среди взрослых в 2017 году составляла 10,8%, причём среди мужчин — 18,8%, а среди женщин — 2,2%. Что касается случаев смертности, связанных с курением, данные за 2021 год показывают, что на курение приходилось 3,63% всех случаев смерти в Гайане, при этом среди мужчин — 4,73%, а среди женщин — 2,1%. Абсолютное число смертей, связанных с курением в 2021 году, составило 311, из которых 236 были среди мужчин и 75 среди женщин.
