В Гвинее, по оценкам, в 2024 году насчитывалось 345 000 людей, которые курят в настоящее время. Распространённость ежедневного курения среди взрослых составляла 10,5% по состоянию на 2018 год. Данные по смертности свидетельствуют о том, что смертность, связанная с курением, остаётся серьёзной проблемой общественного здравоохранения. В 2021 году в Глобальном исследовании бремени болезней (GBD) было отмечено, что курение табака стало причиной примерно 2,41% всех случаев смерти в стране. Это указывает на снижение по сравнению с 2016 годом, когда этот показатель составлял 5,24%. Кроме того, 3,35% всех случаев смерти среди мужчин и 1,25% среди женщин были обусловлены курением табака. В абсолютных цифрах это соответствует 3 056 случаям смерти, из которых 2 351 относились к мужчинам и 705 — к женщинам. Данные отражают снижение по сравнению с 2016 годом, когда общее число смертей, связанных с курением, составляло 4 453 (3 622 мужчины и 831 женщина). Помимо этого, согласно Демографическому и медицинскому обследованию 2018 года, распространённость ежедневного курения табака среди взрослых мужчин также составляла 10,5%. Эти данные подчеркивают продолжающееся влияние курения на общественное здоровье в Гвинее и необходимость дальнейших усилий по снижению его негативного воздействия.
