В Грузии распространённость и последствия курения табака создают серьёзные проблемы для общественного здравоохранения. По оценкам на 2024 год, примерно 834 000 человек в возрасте 15 лет и старше продолжают курить. Превалентность курения среди взрослых мужчин составляет 52,4%, что значительно выше, чем среди женщин (7,8%), а общий показатель среди взрослого населения — 29%. В 2021 году ежедневное курение среди взрослых отмечалось у 24,2%, при этом среди женщин этот показатель составлял 7,7%, а среди мужчин — 43,3%. Данные за 2021 год также иллюстрируют серьёзные последствия курения для здоровья: зафиксировано 12 018 случаев смертей за год. Эти показатели свидетельствуют о том, что 10,95% всех смертей в стране были связаны с курением, причём среди мужчин этот показатель достигает 18,23%, а среди женщин — 3,59%. Подобные данные являются важной основой для реализации инициатив в области общественного здравоохранения и разработки регулирующих мер, направленных на сокращение курения табака и снижение его негативного влияния на здоровье населения Грузии.

Снижение вреда от табака: актуальная проблема для Азии

В центре внимания этого брифинга GSTHR — Азия. В этом регионе проживает 60 процентов курильщиков мира, и здесь происходит почти половина всех смертей от курения в мире. В Азии также проживают девять из каждых десяти пользователей бездымного табака (SLT), что приводит к высокому уровню заболеваемости раком полости рта. В ряде стран общественное здравоохранение серьёзно подрывается из-за того, что правительства либо контролируют отечественные табачные компании, либо имеют в них значительную долю. Для устранения угрозы общественному здоровью, связанной с курением и употреблением табака, необходимы новые решения, однако более безопасные никотиновые продукты запрещены во многих странах. Улучшит ли снижение вреда от табака общественное здоровье в Азии? И если да, то какие препятствия стоят на его пути?
