В Швейцарии электронные сигареты являются легальными и регулируются как табачные изделия. Однако онлайн-продажи электронных сигарет запрещены, и любые заявления о пользе для здоровья, способствующие их использованию, не допускаются. В отличие от традиционных сигарет, на электронные сигареты в Швейцарии не распространяется акцизный налог. В стране существует чёткая нормативная база в отношении продукции для электронных сигарет: упаковка, защищённая от детей и вскрытия, обязательна, а на всей упаковке должны размещаться предупреждения о вреде для здоровья. Ограничений по ассортименту вкусов нет, однако максимальная концентрация никотина ограничена 20 мг/мл, а объём резервуара – не более 2 мл. Использование электронных сигарет в общественных местах также законом ограничено. По данным на 2022 год в Швейцарии насчитывается примерно 221 000 человек, которые в данный момент используют электронные сигареты. Распространённость текущего использования таких устройств среди взрослых составляла 3%: 2,6% среди женщин и 3,4% среди мужчин. Доля взрослых, ежедневно пользующихся электронными сигаретами, оценивалась в 1,7% в целом, при этом среди женщин ежедневная распространённость была 1,7%, среди мужчин – 1,8%.
