В Узбекистане, по данным Всемирной организации здравоохранения (ВОЗ), распространённость употребления табака среди взрослого населения в возрасте 15 лет и старше в 2022 году составила 10,1%. Этот показатель немного снизился по сравнению с уровнем 12,3%, зафиксированным в 2019 году. Уровень распространённости курения значительно выше среди мужчин: в 2024 году курят 19,4% взрослых мужчин и только 0,9% взрослых женщин. Общее количество людей, употребляющих табак в Узбекистане, в 2024 году составило примерно 2,5 миллиона человек. Для сравнения, в 2017 году распространённость ежедневного курения среди взрослых составляла 9,7%, среди мужчин — 18,9%, среди женщин — 1%. Что касается смертности, связанной с употреблением табака, данные за 2021 год показывают, что 8,51% всех случаев смерти в Узбекистане были обусловлены курением, причём среди мужчин этот показатель составил 12,79%, а среди женщин — 3,38%. Общее количество смертей, связанных с курением, в 2021 году составило 16 996 случаев. Эти данные подчёркивают сохраняющиеся вызовы для системы общественного здравоохранения Узбекистана и необходимость дальнейшей работы по снижению последствий употребления табачных изделий.
