W Islandii papierosy elektroniczne są dozwolone i objęte określonymi regulacjami. Sprzedaż e-papierosów online jest legalna, a produkty dostępne są w ogólnej sprzedaży detalicznej. Zabronione jest jednak wszelkie reklamowanie i promowanie e-papierosów. Ponadto przed wprowadzeniem nowego produktu na rynek wymagane jest złożenie odpowiedniego zgłoszenia, a opakowania muszą być wyraźnie oznaczone ostrzeżeniami zdrowotnymi. Obowiązkowe są opakowania odporne na otwarcie przez dzieci oraz zabezpieczone przed manipulacją. Maksymalne dopuszczalne stężenie nikotyny wynosi 20 mg/ml, a pojemność zbiornika nie może przekraczać 2 ml. Nie ma ograniczeń dotyczących różnorodności smaków, natomiast korzystanie z e-papierosów jest prawnie zakazane w niektórych miejscach publicznych. Według danych z 2024 roku na Islandii szacuje się, że jest około 17 500 aktualnych użytkowników e-papierosów, a odsetek dorosłych obecnie korzystających z tych produktów wyniósł 6,4%.
