W Indiach e-papierosy podlegają surowym regulacjom. Ich status prawny został określony jako zakazany. Prawo wprowadza całkowity zakaz wszelkich form reklamy tych produktów. Sprzedaż urządzeń do wapowania oraz nikotyny, zarówno przez internet, jak i w tradycyjnych punktach sprzedaży, jest nielegalna. Ponadto zabroniony jest import urządzeń do e-papierosów oraz nikotyny w celach handlowych, a nabywanie tych produktów na własny użytek, czy to przez internet, czy w inny sposób, jest ustawowo zakazane. W 2017 około 0% dorosłych w Indiach zgłosiło używanie E-papierosy.

  1. E-cigarette sales allowed except in 7 states - Bihar, Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab, Mizoram, Jamma & Kashmir where ENDS are banned. Delhi & Maharashtra were also considering a ban. However recent advice from the Government Ministry of Welfare & Families issued in August 2018, advised all states to prohibit sales, import and advertisement of ecigarettes.
