W 2022 roku liczba osób palących w Bahrajnie w wieku 15 lat i starszych została oszacowana na 261 721. Wskaźnik rozpowszechnienia palenia wśród dorosłych wynosił 18,1%, przy wyraźnej dysproporcji między płciami: 25,7% wśród mężczyzn oraz 4,9% wśród kobiet. Stanowi to niewielki spadek w porównaniu z 2020 rokiem, kiedy ogólny wskaźnik wynosił 19,5%, w tym 26,7% wśród mężczyzn i 4,5% wśród kobiet. Tendencje na przestrzeni lat wskazują na systematyczny spadek częstości palenia wśród mężczyzn – z 33,9% w 2019 roku do 25,7% w 2022 roku. W tym czasie wskaźnik palenia wśród kobiet zmieniał się nieznacznie – z 3,8% w 2019 roku do 4,9% w 2022 roku. Szacowany odsetek codziennych palaczy wśród dorosłych w 2019 roku wynosił 15%, przy 23,5% wśród mężczyzn i 3,3% wśród kobiet. Palenie tytoniu było przyczyną 581 zgonów w 2021 roku, co odpowiadało 9,24% wszystkich przypadków śmiertelnych. Dane szczegółowe według płci pokazują, że 478 spośród tych zgonów dotyczyło mężczyzn (11,69% wszystkich zgonów wśród mężczyzn), a 103 – kobiet (4,69% wszystkich zgonów wśród kobiet).
