W Macedonii, 2 maja 2019 roku, prezydent podpisał dekret formalizujący przyjęcie nowej ustawy o wyrobach tytoniowych, która wprowadza odrębną kategorię dla podgrzewanych wyrobów tytoniowych oraz e-papierosów i nakłada wymóg stosowania odmiennych ostrzeżeń zdrowotnych dla tej kategorii w porównaniu z tradycyjnymi papierosami. Na urządzeniach do e-papierosów nie ma obowiązku zamieszczania ostrzeżeń zdrowotnych. „Palenie” jest zdefiniowane jako używanie tradycyjnych wyrobów tytoniowych spalanych. W przypadku podgrzewanych wyrobów tytoniowych wymagane będzie zgłoszenie produktu przed wprowadzeniem na rynek, natomiast dla e-papierosów – uzyskanie wcześniejszej zgody na dopuszczenie ich do obrotu.
