La Ley del Tabaco—Ley (1993:581) sobre tabaco (artículo 12 f)—transpone el artículo 19 de la Directiva Europea sobre productos del tabaco, que incluye los nuevos productos de tabaco y es aplicable a los productos de tabaco calentado. Las normativas abarcan la presentación de informes, notificaciones y etiquetas de advertencia sanitaria. La Agencia de Salud Pública de Suecia es la autoridad reguladora responsable de los productos de tabaco calentado; hasta el momento, no ha ejercido esta facultad.
