Los cigarrillos electrónicos son legales en Eslovaquia y están regulados como productos del tabaco. Los consumidores pueden adquirir cigarrillos electrónicos tanto en línea como en comercios minoristas generales. El sistema regulatorio para el vapeo en el país está bien establecido. Según esta normativa, se exige la notificación de nuevos productos, envases a prueba de manipulación y resistentes para niños, así como advertencias sanitarias en el empaquetado de los cigarrillos electrónicos. No se permiten declaraciones sobre beneficios para la salud relacionadas con su uso. Además, la venta está restringida a personas mayores de 18 años y la concentración de nicotina no puede superar los 20 mg/ml. Aunque no existen prohibiciones sobre sabores, el uso de cigarrillos electrónicos en lugares públicos está restringido. En 2023, se estimaba que había aproximadamente 136.700 usuarios actuales de cigarrillos electrónicos en Eslovaquia. La prevalencia de vapeo de cigarrillos electrónicos entre adultos fue del 3%, mientras que la prevalencia diaria estimada fue del 1,7%. En 2017, la opinión pública en Eslovaquia reflejaba que el 36% de las personas creían que los cigarrillos electrónicos son menos perjudiciales que los cigarrillos tradicionales, el 48% los consideraba igual o más perjudiciales y el 16% no tenía una opinión al respecto.
