Una circular gubernamental de 2014 (No. 001/14 Sor.Nor.No.NACD) emitida por la Autoridad Nacional para la Lucha contra las Drogas prohíbe la venta, importación y uso de cigarrillos electrónicos. Dispone que todas las autoridades deben tomar medidas para “poner fin a todas las formas de consumo y venta de shisha y cigarrillos electrónicos mediante la confiscación de estos productos prohibidos” y para “poner fin y restringir todas las formas de venta e importación”. Oficialmente, todos los cigarrillos electrónicos encontrados por las autoridades, en cualquier circunstancia, serán confiscados. Sin embargo, se han recibido informes de viajeros que indican que no han tenido problemas al ingresar cigarrillos electrónicos al país para uso personal, y parece aceptable usarlos en las áreas designadas para fumadores.
