Los cigarrillos electrónicos que contienen nicotina se clasifican como medicamentos y están regulados por la Ley de Alimentos y Medicamentos de 1975, la cual prohíbe la venta, distribución, importación o fabricación de cualquier medicamento que no esté registrado ante el Ministerio de Salud. Hasta la fecha, ningún cigarrillo electrónico ha sido aprobado bajo este procedimiento. Sin embargo, existen tiendas de vapeo en la isla. La Ley de Salud Pública – Reglamento de Enmienda sobre el Control del Tabaco de 2014 considera los cigarrillos electrónicos como productos de tabaco y prohíbe su uso en el transporte público y en lugares públicos.
